For people who live offline
A period tracker that works fully offline
The short answer: every feature in Mori works with zero network. Recording, calendar, prediction ranges, insights, reminders, export and deletion run entirely on your phone. Turn on airplane mode and nothing changes — because there was never a connection to lose.
What "fully offline" covers
- Recording & editing — mark, unmark, backdate and split periods with no connection.
- Predictions — next-period ranges, cycle day, phases and the estimated fertile window are computed on-device from your records. No server, no model, no API call.
- Insights & statistics — cycle length trends, averages and regularity are calculated locally.
- Reminders — period and ovulation reminders are local notifications scheduled on-device, not push messages from a server.
- Export & deletion — structured data export and full deletion work offline too; the file is generated on your phone.
Why other apps only work "sort of" offline
Many trackers open without a connection but quietly degrade: the account check fails, predictions wait for a server, insights show a spinner. Their architecture assumes a network because their data lives on one.
Mori's is the opposite shape: the local database is the source of truth, and every computation happens where the data is. Offline isn't a degraded mode — it's the only mode the core app knows.
Side by side
| Typical cloud tracker | Mori | |
|---|---|---|
| Opens offline | Usually yes | Yes |
| Log a period offline | Usually yes, syncs later | Yes — there is nothing to sync unless you opt in |
| Predictions offline | Often cached or server-computed | Computed on-device, always |
| Reminders offline | Depends — some use push | Local notifications, always fire |
| Export offline | Rarely offered | Generated on-device |
| Account required | Yes (needs first login) | None at all |
Where a connection genuinely helps
One optional feature uses the network: encrypted cloud sync (US$3.99, one-time). It exists for people who want a backup or a second device. Everything sync-related is isolated behind that opt-in — sync snapshots are encrypted on your phone before upload, and the feature is off by default.
Beyond that, Mori asks for no network permission usage in the core flow. If you never enable sync, the app simply never talks to the internet.
FAQ
Do predictions need the internet?
No. Predictions are deterministic calculations run on your phone from your own records — no server, no model download, no network call. They work identically in airplane mode.
What does Mori use the network for, if anything?
Only one optional feature touches the network: encrypted cloud sync, if you turn it on. Everything else — logging, calendar, predictions, insights, export, reminders, deletion — is 100% local.
Do reminders work offline too?
Yes. Period and ovulation reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. No push server is involved, so they fire even with no signal.
